Jewellery Care
Will my jewellery tarnish?
Yes. 925 Sterling Silver naturally oxidises over time, while brass naturally develops a darker patina when exposed to oxygen and moisture. This is a natural characteristic of these metals and is not considered a defect.
How should I care for my jewellery?
Keep your jewellery away from perfume, creams, hairspray, chlorine and other chemicals. We also recommend removing your jewellery before bathing, showering, swimming or exercising.
Humidity, salty air and individual skin chemistry can also affect how quickly jewellery tarnishes.
How do I clean my jewellery?
For sterling silver and brass, you can gently clean your jewellery using a jewellery polishing cloth or with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly afterwards.
For gold-plated chains, use only warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry gently.
Avoid using lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda on gold-plated jewellery, as this may damage the plating.
How should I store my jewellery?
Store your jewellery somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight. An airtight container, zip-lock bag or lined jewellery box can help reduce exposure to air and humidity.
Avoid storing jewellery in the bathroom, where moisture and humidity can accelerate tarnishing.
